For the first time this conference brings together eight years of a statewide conference focused on supporting the most challenged children and youth in the community together with the 3rd Child and Youth Care Conference which has gathered in Newfoundland and Labrador (Canada), Vienna (Austria), and now in Southern California (USA).

The conference venue is located just steps from the Pacific Ocean in Ventura, California – an hour north of Los Angeles International airport or the Bob Hope Burbank airport or a half hour south of the Santa Barbara airport. 2017 International Youth Worker Symposium

Untitled

Join leading nonprofit professionals and youth workers from around the globe as we gather to reflect upon and improve our practice, deepen our relationships and refresh ourselves as practitioners dedicated to serving young people.

What are you doing November 8-15, 2017?  I have a great idea for something you might just want to put on your calendar right now!

It’s  the International Youth Worker Symposium on the Sea at a fantastic Iberostar Beach Resort in Playa Paraiso, Mexico.

It’s only $600 (pp for double room – for Journey Fellows) and $800 for all other youth workers. This includes:

  •      A week long symposium filled with rich conversations and engaging sessions on important topics for the field of youth development
  •      A youth worker study tour to meet the Youth Workers from the region and learn about the issues facing young people in this area
  •      A great room on the ocean for you and a friend/family member or colleague (yes you can bring family and friends)
  •      All your food/drinks for the week (including taxes and tips)
  •      Your transportation from the Cancun airport.

All you have to get is your flight to Cancun, Mexico and that’s it!  What a deal, right!  Not to mention the great times connecting with youth workers from all over the world as you have fun, relax and renew in the beautiful Yucatan beaches of Mexico.

The Journey

Care leavers have the right to be involved!

Care leavers have the right to be involved!

The FICE Network for Care leavers was established in August 2016 during the remarkable summit of more than 65 young care leavers from 13 different countries.

The board of FICE International is delighted to see that in a lot of countries the Vienna Statement for Care Leavers has a great impact and follow-ups are done in an incredible way. So it was a pleasure for me to be present at the meeting of Care Leavers in Serbian Parliament organized by FICE Serbia. Thank you FICE Serbia, and a big thank you to all wonderful young people fighting for the rights I met in Belgrade.
