The 5th Seminar on the Quality of Care Services for Children and Adolescents: Possibilities and Challenges - will discuss better practice within different types of care services for children and adolescents, including shelters, residential care, care leavers condominiums and foster care services as based on Brazilian law and the UN Guidelines for the Alternative Care of Children.

Issues including day to day activities and schooling, use of psychoactive substances, mental health, sexuality and gender of children in care will be discussed. These themes reflect the continual concerns of professionals in the area and due to the growing complexity of the cases being attended, especially those of teenagers and care leavers.

In this edition, the participation of children and adolescents from various regions of the country will take place through videos and recorded messages that will be presented during the event drawn from guided activities by educators from care services prior to the Seminar.

EXPECTED PUBLIC: Professionals who work in services for the care of children and adolescents, especially within residential care services, in the municipal and state government, child rights counselors, guardianship counselors, the interdisciplinary teams of the justice system, academics, and others interested in the subject.
