FICE co-president conveys a message on the occasion of the International CYC week

Dear FICE members in South Africa and around the world,

This week we all celebrate the week dedicated to pay tribute to the Child and Youth Care Workers (3 to 9 May 2021).

These dear people always deserve our recognition and high appreciation for their ongoing devotion for children and young people in vulnerable situations.

However, in this particular year we are living with the COVID-19 pandemic, they showed themselves again as outstanding human beings, in addition to their professional expertise. Since in many countries we experienced long periods of lockdown, it was a complex and even dangerous mission to keep all children and young people who need care, in their programs-both in community-based programs and in out of home care. In most countries this was done successfully due to the devotion and high commitment of child and youth care workers.

Let us salute them in this occasion and express our love and high appreciation
