The respondent from Germany is a representative of IGfH, an umbrella organization which does not provide direct services to clients.  Rather, its members are individuals, welfare- and state-organisations who lobby for children rights, the development of child and youth care services, de-institutionalisation and the social pedagogical professionalism in this field.   Providing services such as further education, publications and lobbying, their projects include care leavers, out of home care/foster care, children's rights, the quality of education and inclusive child and youth care legislation.

Various qualifications for professionals in the child and youth care field are available, such as diplomas, undergraduate degrees and vocational training.

German members are interested in collaborations with other organizations around the world.  Please contact the FICE office for further details.
